Bread carbs vary

Choose whole grains for breads, waffles, bagels, and tortillas.

Veggies have carbs

Most of us should eat more of the two main food categories that are high in carbs. Dietitians always advise eating fruits and vegetables.

Sugar is food and nutrition

It can be naturally present, as fructose in fruit or lactose in milk, or added as cane sugar, maple syrup, agave nectar, honey, or another sweet name.

Fiber is a carb

Fiber promotes satiety, blood sugar balance, cholesterol management, cancer prevention, and intestinal regularity.

Must eat 50% sugar

Healthy people should consume 45–65% carbs. A 2,000-calorie diet should include 900–1300 calories or 225–325 grams of carbs each day.

Carbs have 4 calories / gram

Fat, carbohydrate, protein, and alcohol give calories. Protein and carbohydrates have four calories per gram, whereas pure alcohol has seven and fat has nine.
