Apples & pear

Fruit sugar, fructose, makes these fruits high-carb. If you consume the full fruit, including the peel of apples and pears, their nutritious advantages outweigh their carbs.

Bread & pasta

Don't dis all carbs. Even the poster children for high-carb foods, bread and pasta, are important for good nutrition.

 Despite oatmeal's high carbohydrate content, a Nutrients meta-analysis found that type 2 diabetics lowered their fasting blood glucose and HbA1C levels over three months after consuming it.

Bananas are another high-carb item that won't make you fat. First, bananas contain potassium, which lowers blood pressure, so eating one a day is good for your heart.
